Complaining

You can watch today's video devotional HERE as I discuss how some NBA players have been complaining about their food and accommodations in the Orlando bubble...and how we, too, can get caught up in complaining and whining. We have a choice to either look for blessings and have a thankful perspective...or dwell on our tough circumstances and complain about them. The Bible is clear on which approach to take. These are today's key verses: "Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people" (Philippians 2:14-15; NLT).

"...give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18; ESV). One NBA player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has the right approach, as told to ESPN: “I’m in a situation where I’m extremely blessed, and I cannot complain. Obviously, it doesn’t matter where you are in life, there’s always something to complain, there’s always a problem and an issue.” "But I try to kind of not focus on that. So as I said, my apartment in Greece, when I was younger, with my four brothers, was way smaller than the suite that I have in the hotel, so I’m just trying to enjoy the moment.” I’m Bryce Johnson and you can UNPACK that! Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me to be more aware of all the blessings in my life. Help me be filled with thankfulness so that I won't be as prone to complain. Thank you for Jesus and the grace You show me. In His name, I pray, Amen. Watch the video devo HERE
