The Green Bay Packers are a special franchise with a strong history and tradition of winning. Although Aaron Rodgers was injured last season, he's coming back motivated and healthy, and the Packers are a team to watch once again.
The free agent signing of Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham should be a great fit for Rodgers on the field, as he gives the offense a 6’7” dynamic target to throw to.
Graham explained to ESPN.com why he chose the Packers and it sounds like everyone is on the same page when it comes tomotivation and mindset:
“For me, it’s about winning a ring. Simple as that. I know this team, I know Aaron’s hungry, I know the coaching staff’s hungry, this franchise is hungry to win one. And that was the defining factor for me.”
Most teams and players might say it’s all about winning a ring, but there are some who really stand out with a deep hunger and thirst to win the Super Bowl. They are driven, focused, and passionate about obtaining the Lombardi Trophy.
We can all connect with the word "hungry" because we know what it feels like to have an empty stomach and want to fill it with food. There's a need that drives us to seek something to satisfy our hunger pains.
This concept of hunger not only translates to a player’s appetite to win, and be around teammates and coaches who have a similar need and desire, but also describes our inward passion, focus, and desire for God.
A question to ask ourselves today is how hungry are we? Are we driven to know Him, follow Him, and serve Him? Do we crave to have a deeper understanding of His Word?
Are we drawn to be in His presence? Do we yearn to stay in His will and find our longings satisfied in Him? Do we set out to do what is right in His sight?
Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:6 (AMP), “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness , for they will be satisfied.”
The cry of our hearts should be, “O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water” (Psalm 63:1 - NLT).
Today, let’s be encouraged to hunger and thirst after God and His righteousness...motivated to become more and more like Him.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I’m thankful for Your grace through Jesus. I pray You’d give me a deep hunger and thirst for You and for righteousness. I know I’m satisfied when I pursue You and long to live in a way that’s pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
