  1. The “Off Day”

With the NFL season flying by, players are worn out, beat up, and mentally drained. They’ve had training camp, practices, and games almost nonstop since July, and most good players also want to put in the extra time to improve their game. However, some veterans like Cardinals’ quarterback, Carson Palmer, are given an off day during the week to sit out practice and rest. At first, he wasn’t thrilled with the idea of taking off practice because he loves to be out there with the team: “You want the reps [repetitions], you want to be in…

  2. Trump and Belichick’s Friendship

As you know, I’m a huge sports fan who loves competition. Having said that, last night’s process of revealing the election results felt like a championship game and my sports mindset drew me into it all. The “event” provided everything – suspense, surprises, prognosticating, lead changes, and winners and losers at the finish. Unfortunately, the results and competition are much more personal, hateful, hurtful and emotional than even the biggest sports rivalries. Although Duke-UNC and Michigan-Ohio State rivalries are intense with hatred, I don’t think they compare to a presidential election…especially this one! Sadly, strong disagreements…

  3. The Packers’ Lack of Enthusiasm

I still consider Packers’ quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, to be a top player in the NFL, despite the recent struggles surrounding him and the team. They have lost three out of their last four games and are just 4-5 in their last nine home games (including last season) at the amazing Lambeau Field. This past Sunday, they lost to the Indianapolis Colts 31-26 in front of their home crowd, so the pressure is heating up even more with their 4-4 record and sitting behind the Lions and Vikings in the NFC North standings. Aaron…

  4. Cubs Win!

The Chicago Cubs won the World Series last night in one of the most epic and incredible sporting events of my lifetime. It was well worth staying up late to experience the excitement, uncertainty, momentum shifts, surprising home runs, and uncharacteristic pitching. As sports fans, we were totally spoiled with the game…and the outcome. I’m thrilled that I was able to witness the Cubs end their 108-year drought, and win in dramatic fashion on the road, in extra innings, in a Game 7, and after a rain delay. It was fun…

  5. NFL Ties

Every week we watch NFL games to see who wins and loses. But the last two weeks have given us two games ending in a tie! Teams compete at the highest level for four quarters and overtime…and yet, nobody wins. The Bengals and Redskins tied at 27 this past Sunday, and the week before that the Seahawks and Cardinals finished 6-6. This was the first time since 1997 that there have been two ties in the same season. Even though ties are rare, when they happen they are basically despised by everyone….
