The UNC Tar Heels are heading to another Final Four. It’s been a special run for this team, as they have been led by key seniors Brice Johnson (what a name!) and Marcus Paige. North Carolina seems to have a really close-knit team and a tight relationship with head coach, Roy Williams.

They have been through a lot together as a team, and even though Williams has already been to seven other Final Fours and won two NCAA championships, getting to this year’s Final Four in Houston was really important to him.

After yesterday’s win, he said, “But never in my life have I ever wanted anything as much for somebody else as I wanted these guys to go to Houston.” That comment really shows how much he cares about these specific players, and it’s great he’s been able to help get them to the Final Four.

This weekend we celebrated Easter, and today the celebration continues because we can live each moment with the reality that Jesus came to earth, died, and rose again. We are forgiven, saved from the punishment of sin, and will one day join Jesus in Heaven. If we truly believe this for ourselves, shouldn’t we have a strong desire and passion for others to receive this same wonderful gift? We should be able to say, “Never in my life have I ever wanted anything as much for somebody else as I want others to go to Heaven.” How different would our lives look if we cared that much about other people and their eternal destiny?

Jesus told his disciples in Mark 16:15“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” If we love Jesus and have experienced the power of the cross in our own lives, then we should absolutely want others to know Jesus too.

Today, let’s be thankful for all that we have because of Jesus…and let’s bring that good news to others because we’ve never wanted anything as much for somebody else.

I’m Bryce Johnson and you can UNPACK that!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross for me. I believe that He rose again and that changes everything. I pray that amazing truth would ignite a passion in me to share the gospel with others, so they too can experience forgiveness and eternal life with You. I pray for boldness and confidence when I tell others about how Jesus has changed my life. In His name, I pray, Amen.
